Gaylord Memorial Library’s Youth Services Department is committed to creating a warm and welcoming environment where children and their caregivers can read, explore, play, and learn. In the basement of the library, you’ll find an art table, STEAM exploration space and sensory wall, cardboard castle, chalkboard rocket ship, felt board, sand and water table, and play corner filled with LEGOs, puzzles, games, and toys. Put on a puppet show, investigate slides with the microscope, practice color sorting at the sensory table, create a work of art to take home or hang in our gallery, and, of course, curl up with a good book in our cozy chairs and beanbags!
Our collection includes both fiction and nonfiction board books, picture books, Easy Readers and first chapter books, middle-grade books, and graphic novels. You can also check out DVDs, audiobooks, music CDs, book and CD kits, museum passes, and Begin with Books Backpacks.
We offer a wide variety of free programming, including weekly story time. Click here to view our upcoming programs, and join us on Facebook for updates.
Computers and Internet
While we don’t have computers in our children’s room, you are welcome to use a public computer upstairs with the assistance of a caregiver. We also have free WiFi for use with personal devices.
We would be happy to assist you in any way that we can! Please feel free to contact youth services at (413) 538-5047 or by email at email@example.com .
