Adult Events

Mindfulness at the Library – First Thursdays.
Join us for a mindfulness program presented by Deborah Marshall from the Pioneer Valley Shambhala Center. Combining meditation exercises with an overview of mindfulness practice, participants will discover how to be fully present and aware of ourselves and surroundings, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us.

Sit and Stitch with Timna Tarr – Second Thursdays.
Drop in and spend an evening with your crafty neighbors. Bring your portable handwork of choice – quilting, crocheting, knitting, cross-stitch etc. – and enjoy the company of fellow slow stitchers while you work on your project in a fun and relaxed environment. Timna Tarr is a professional quilter and South Hadley resident whose work has been in numerous exhibits, books, and magazines.

Spanish Language Circle – Third Saturdays.
Do you know Spanish but hardly have the opportunity to speak it? Do you want to maintain your command of the language and even expand it? Improve your Spanish language skills by meeting local Spanish language and culture lovers for conversation and fun! All levels are welcome. The conversation facilitator is Mount Holyoke College Professor Nieves Romero-Díaz. This program is a project of the library and Mount Holyoke College. No registration necessary. This is not a Spanish class.

Too Many Cooks!: A Cook Book Book Club – Bimonthly, third Thursdays.
Come join us for a delicious book group! The directions are simple:

  • Choose a recipe from our featured book and make it at home.
  • Bring it to the club to taste it and other offerings from fellow members.
